Residue: Architecture as a Condition of Loss

Residue: Architecture as a Condition of Loss

Residue: Architecture as a Condition of Loss deploys ‘unbuilt’ architecture as a means of reconceptualising place and exploring the rich dimensions of history and culture in facilitating architectural form. While the geographic, topographic and even climatic conditions of a place provide a rich framework for creating architecture, they can neglect the specific cultural, social and historical factors that in urban situations more cogently define a sense of ‘place’.
