Drug Database (DRUG)

The Drug Database (DRUG), produced by the National Resource Centre of the Alcohol and other Drugs Council of Australia (ADCA), is a bibliographic database that indexes articles from published and unpublished material on the psychosocial and treatment aspects of alcohol, drug and tobacco use and misuse.

ADCA is the national peak body for the alcohol and other drugs sector. The National Resource Centre was established in 1974 and serves the information needs of the Council, its individual and organisational members, librarians, researchers, treatment workers, administrators, tertiary students and the general public.

Source documents: All major Australian and international alcohol, tobacco and other drugs journals have been comprehensively indexed since 1987. Articles on substance use published in other medical, psychological and sociological journals have been included as well as books, book chapters, conference papers, research reports, discussion and position papers, government documents, statistics, clinical treatment guidelines and audiovisual material.

Subject coverage: The social, economic, political, psychological and legal aspects of prevention and treatment of alcohol, tobacco and other drug use and misuse with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice.
