RMIT Publishing supports humour and personality in engineering education
29 June 2010
RMIT Publishing is delighted to be sponsoring two Engineers Australia members and students of the University of Adelaide, David Whitman and Amelia Greig to attend the Engineering Education Conference (EE2010) in Birmingham in the UK next week. Both students will be presenting at papers at the event. David will present 'A Student's Perspective on the Effectiveness of Personality and Learning Tools in Engineering Education’, co-authored by lecturer Dorothy Missingham, while Amelia will present ‘Engineering Humour: A student’s perspective on the effective use of humour in engineering education’, co-authored by Missingham and Colin Kestell.
This international conference will provide platform to consider how universities can inspire the next generation of engineers, how to engage and retain students in their studies and continue to professionally develop the engineers of the future. Engineering education is a topic represented extensively by Informit Engineering Collection, which includes core journal articles and reports from Engineers Australia and the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ). Engineers Austraila and IPENZ members can access the Collection via their library and member login.
