Informit Interface V3.2
Informit V3.2 has now been released. Enhancements and modifications to the interface include improved searching and access to full text articles. Details are listed below.
Searching
Searchable fields shown in the drop downs of the search panel are now separated into two groups. The most common search fields are visible by default. All other available fields may be accessed by clicking the 'Show all other fields ->' link.
The ‘Manage Search History’ and ‘Manage Alerts’ links have moved to the area above the search panel and are now more prominent.
The ‘Search Hints’ link is now located nearer the Search button within the search panel.
A ‘Clear Search’ link has been added to clear the content of the search boxes.
Search Results will now be sorted by newest date first by default. NOTE: Searches that yield more than 100,000 records are not sorted.
Full Text Search
The full text of documents within Informit Plus Text or Informit e-Library databases are now searchable. Users may check the ‘Also Search Full Text of Articles’ checkbox when performing a search.
Indexes
Index Scanning is now referred to as ‘Browsing indexes’ within the ‘Indexes’ tab of the search panel. Only the most common fields are now browsable.
Help and Database Information
The general Informit interface help and specific database information pages have been integrated and are accessible from the ‘Help’ link.
COUNTER Statistic Reports
Beta COUNTER(v3) reports for databases D1, D2 and D3 have now been added to the Statistic Reports available in Informit Admin. Additionally, the journal J1 report has been modified to be compliant.
Please report any problems you may find with these reports to support@informit.com.au
Reports can take some time to generate, particularly for larger institutions. Customers had reported problems retrieving these reports when choosing Comma Delimited Format (.CSV) as their session is timed out before the report is able to finish. This has now been corrected.
Media Databases – Program episode browsing
As the TVNews and RequestTV databases approach one year old, the list of episodes available for any given program has become too long (ie one line entry per day of the year in some cases).
For ease of use the episode lists are now separated into years. The current year is expanded and shown by default. To view previous years, users may click on ‘Browse’ links available at the bottom of the page.
Informit e-Library - Humanities & Social Sciences Collection
The database code for the Humanities & Social Sciences Collection is now IELHSS . The previous code (E-LIBRARY) will continue to work for the remainder of 2008. From 2009 this code may be used to represent a group of e-Library collections.
Other Fixes / Changes
Expired Alerts no longer show a negative amount of days remaining
