RMIT Publishing selected for ERA Product Panel 2009-2011
02 April 2009
RMIT Publishing is delighted to have been chosen as a participating vendor on the Electronic Resources Australia (ERA) 2009-2011 Product Panel. Participating vendors were chosen through an open tender process and announced at the annual Members Forum on 25th March 2009. The ERA offering now includes 25 products, providing a much wider range of full text resource and includes, for the first time, humanities and social science resources.
What is ERA?
ERA is a national initiative that is working towards national licensing of electronic resources for Australian libraries. It is the first consortium that covers all libraries within Australia and offers all Australian libraries a collaborative purchasing opportunity and improved access to quality online information.
It's free to join ERA
Participation in ERA is free, making subscriptions through ERA available to all Australian libraries, library-related entities or organisations on an opt-in basis, at the price offered by each individual publisher/content provider.

Pricing poll to determine subscription prices
The ERA product poll will set pricing for subscriptions taken between 1 July 2009 and 30 June 2010. The product poll opened on March 25th and will remain open until 15 April. Libraries that are interested in initiating subscriptions through ERA should complete the product poll at http://era.nla.gov.au/product_list/productpolls.html by 15 April to ensure that pricing is set based on level of anticipated take-up. Although the online product polls are not binding, a sense of genuine interest is required in order to confirm the prices in mid April. Libraries that expressed interest through the product poll will then be contacted by ERA representatives to seek confirmation about whether or not they wish to proceed. Once pick-up and pricing is confirmed, initial ERA customer details will be provided to the vendors so the necessary renewal/ new subscriptions arrangements can be progressed.
Results of the pricing poll
Weekly progress results will published via the ERA website at http://era.nla.gov.au/product_list/
