Celebrating Thirty Years: Australian Society for Music Education 1967-1997 was issued to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of the Australian Society for Music Education. Its release coincided with the Eleventh National Conference of ASME in Brisbane, July 1997.

Within this volume are reflections by the ten people who have served as National President of the Society: Frank Callaway, Noel Nickson, Max Cooke, Roger Covell, Patricia Holmes, Martin Comte, Warren Bourne, Barry Palmer, Joan Livermore, and Gary McPherson. Each person was asked to reflect on his or her period of office. These reflections offer some insight into the development of ASME.
