How to access Informit
OPTION 1: Access via a library/organisational subscription
Universities, state libraries, hospitals, businesses and government departments throughout Australia and around the world subscribe to Informit. Ask us if your organisation subscribes.
If you are a member of a subscribing organisation, you can access Informit content via your library website or the ‘Search Informit’ button above. Please note that you will not be able to access full text content outside of your organisation or university (i.e. from home) unless you have requested remote access from your librarian.
OPTION 2: Pay-per-view access
The abstracts and bibliographic information of journals, ebooks and conference papers included within Informit Collections (in Business, Engineering, Families, Health and Humanities) is available free online.
You may also purchase individual full text articles. To start searching:
- » click the ‘Search Informit’ button above
- » select the database(s) you wish to search
- » find an article of interest
- » click the PDF icon to be prompted for payment details.
The article is now yours to download and save for unlimited reference.

Keep updated with RSS and email alerts
RSS Alerts are available to subscribers wishing to keep up with the latest content of interest included in Informit Collections (i.e. Informit Business Collection, Engineering Collection, Families & Society Collection, Health Collection, Humanities & Social Sciences Collection and New Zealand Collection.
Table of Contents Feeds: These alerts provide a list of articles included in a specific title. For example, if you’re interested in Indigenous health you may want to get the RSS feed for the Aboriginal and Islander Health Worker Journal.
Title feeds: RSS title feeds are available for Informit full text and media databases - these inform of new journals, ebooks and reports added to a specific database.

- » Click the ‘titles’ tab
- » Click ‘Titles Feed’ RSS link at the top of the pafe
Email alerts: If you wish to receive an alert when new content is added to Informit that matches one of your frequent or most important searches:

- » Select a database and run your search
- » Above your search results, you will see a ‘Create alert button’
